Interoperable Physics and Dynamics Capabilities (SIMA)
About this project
This work will make it easier to swap physics packages and dynamical cores within our atmospheric models. Once this work is complete, our models will be easier to configure and more interoperable, allowing us to ask scientific questions of our models that span minutes to centuries and cloud and global scales.
Why this work is important
This work will make our atmospheric models more flexible, allowing us to swap in and out different physics packages and dynamical cores. Thus, allowing our community to configure a unique model setup that lets them ask the science questions they’re interested in studying, from minutes to centuries, and across different spatial resolutions, from storm-resolving to global scales.
